Eva Rivas: Singing and Planting Apricot Trees Abroad

Eva Rivas, who will be representing Armenia in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, has begun her promotional tour today. First stop: Ukraine, where the local preliminary Eurovision round will take place on March 6.

Afterward, Rivas will perform in Russia and Israel, among other countries. In each country, the singer and her team are preparing to plant an apricot tree, as a reminder of the home of apricot trees — Armenia.

The tall Russian-Armenian singer said that she begun studying English and Armenian after February 14. (She was born in the Russian town of Rostov-on-Don and speaks Russian.)

She will be performing in the first half of the second semi-final of the contest, on 27 May, 2010.
